Be Inspired by Michelle Obama

Its been a while. Sorry for the break, been tied up with work and the challenges of being a loving and caring housewife. I chose to dish out this write up now because unfortunately so many ladies out there look up to the wrong models and end up following the wrong path in their lifestyle, dress sense and style. Its imperative thus to present stylish and worthy role models that we all could copy from and get inspiration from.

Now Michelle Obama is often considered a classy, stylish and accomplished woman. Keep reading for ways to be inspired by her.

 1. Always put your children first. It is clear to everyone that Ms. Obama does this, and there are few things that are more important in this world. Of all the issues she is concerned about, Michelle knows that properly raised children are the key to a better world. If you have children, helping to make them an asset to humanity trumps everything else you can do

 2. Get an education. Mrs. Obama is highly educated, and had a very important, high-profile and lucrative position. To emulate her, you should strive to be self-reliant and have a fulfilling career. If you are in high school, aim for the grades you are capable of. If you are older and are not as educated as you would like to be, contact your local GED office, or college, to see how you can broaden your horizons.

 3. Always appear positive. Mrs. Obama always has a smile, and is warm and friendly to all she meets. The way she greeted the Queen of England is the standard on how to be down-to-earth and friendly. Consider how her behavior puts people at ease, and emulate this quality of hers.

 4. Dress well. Mrs. Obama is always well dressed, and this makes an impression on those who look up to her. When dressing, highlight your attributes. Ms. Obama is known for showing her arms and legs when dressed up. In this day and age, there is no reason to hide what you were born with. If you have room for improvement in this area, consult your well-dressed friends for advice.

 5. Dress original. Do not be afraid of wearing outfits that may not appeal to the masses. Her red and black dress on election night, while criticized by some, showed confidence. Go to a department store or thrift shop, and by clothes that suit your fancy.

GOING NUDE

Attempting to pull off that flawless nude make up look can be challenging. But if achieved correctly, enhancing your natural beauty is the ideal makeup treatment for every woman. Here are the steps to create that "au naturale" glow everyone has been idolizing.

1. If you are determined to pull off the nude look, your skin must be well taken care of. This applies to any makeup look too. Using a moisturizing cream, appropriate for your skin type, is very essential to help you achieve and maintain soft, smooth and healthy looking skin.

2. The next step is your foundation. Less is more, but it must even your skin complexion and cover all areas of your face completely. This includes a little bit on your t-zone and neck. If you have oily skin or a tendency to sweat, go for a foundation that is a shade lighter than your skin tone. This is because when sweat comes in contact with the foundation, it will make the color a bit darker.

3. Choose a concealer that is a shade lighter than your skin in order to hide the dark circles under your eyes. It is best to apply it after you have applied your foundation and only where needed.

4. The right blush plays a huge part in any makeup process if used properly. For a fresh and sweet look, smile and apply the blush by moving your brush in a circular motion around your cheekbones, slowly going upwards the temples.

5. Add a light eye shadow in soft neutral tones. These shades will add the perfect touch to any type of skin complexion.

6. Next is your mascara. Black is said to be a tad harsh for a nude look. Try brown mascara as it is a much better option to lighten the load.

7. Last, but not the least, are your lips for that flawless finish.Exfoliating is very important in order to achieve smooth and healthy looking lips. Stay away from lipsticks and instead choose a light shaded lip balm. This will project luminosity and create that natural look.

Thank You

Thanks for your continued interest in my blog. I've been really overwhelmed by the reception my blog has received especially from my facebook family. I have been pretty tied up the past few days with work and stuffs, so haven't been able to blog as much as I would have loved to. That not withstanding,  I will always be here to dish out trendy n stylish fashion stuffs. Tomorrow promises to be another great day and I will be returning with a new article this time around on make ups. Nude make up! How to pull off a Nude look without being spotted or detected. And you know nude make up enhances your natural beauty. Do keep a date with us. Ciao

5 FASHION PIECES EVERY WOMAN NEEDS AND CAN AFFORD

Timeless black platform courtsA Pair of Black Pumps
Ever seen any color that doesn't complement black? Well neither have I, which is why it is essential for every woman to have a pair of stylish black pumps in her closet.Lets face it. Black goes with everything and it flatters as well, so choose a heel height you can walk with and do your stuff.

Red seam detail pencil dressA Non-Black cocktail dress
Every time you go to a party, almost every woman is wearing a little black dress. Come on now ladies, that's BORING! Instead buy a cocktail dress with an eye catching hue like red, fuchsia or green; it will enhance your curves and also make you stand out  in a room full of little black dresses wearing women.

A Pattern-Embossed belt
A Beautiful belt completely polishes off your outfit, even though ninety-five percent of women don't actually know this. It's like when a man wears expensive shoes or an expensive watch, its not a big statement-making look but
it still eye catching and very noticeable.Get a belt that is expensive looking without the hefty price tag by opting for an embossed alligator or animal print style belt.

A Bold colorful scarf

With a great scarf you can make even the plainest outfit look stylish. Gauzy patterned scarves are the way to go if you are trying to decide on what type to get. Plus they come relatively cheap so you wont be breaking the bank to purchase one.

A motorcycle jacket

Motos used to be for girls who rode motorcycles — or at least for the boho-chic among us. No more. They have become the go-to-jacket. They've been all over the runways, and work with everything from a pretty, flirty dress, to a pair of jeans, to dress pants. Though moto jackets are available in just about every color of the rainbow, a shade — like this black and eggshell — that you can wear all the time is recommended. Avoid super-cropped styles, which are best left to teenagers, and seek out one that hits at the top of your thigh. Then, wear a longer shirt underneath to give the illusion of a lengthier torso

Clothes Symbols: What They Mean

I believe you'll find this article very useful. Many of us had never known, or bothered to find out, what the lines under each symbol which is attached to our clothing meant. Some just stick everything in the washer at 30 degrees and hope for the best! How many times have you grabbed a top, bunged it into the washing machine and hoped for the best? Even if the fabric is being hand washed, it'll help preserve and prolong the colour and texture that lovely dress of yours if you take these symbols serious.
Avoid faded colours, shrinking sweaters and bobbly jumpers with Anita's fashion blog's guide to the clothing care labels.
40 wash symbol for clothing labels

Temperature Guide

40° wash tub without a bar: indicates normal washing conditions can be used (at 40°) and the maximum spin cycle can be set

40° wash tub with single bar: indicates the fabrics needs a synthetics wash

40° wash tub with double bar: indicates a specific machine wool-wash.
(The temperature figure will vary according to the maximum wash temperature, for example, 50 or 95.)
Handwash symbol for clothing labels

Handwashing

Hand in water: wash garments by hand only.
Can we get away with hand-washing clothes that require a gentle machine wash? Surprisingly, no. "Hand washing is usually more severe than a machine wool wash cycle, as we tend to over-agitate the garment and wring-out too tightly," says Mansell.
Tumble dry symbol for clothing labels

Tumble Drying

Circle in box: garment may be tumble dried. If there is a dot in the circle, use with a low heat setting; if there are two dots, use with a high heat setting. A cross through the symbol means do not tumble dry.
Hot iron symbol for clothing labels

Iron Settings

Iron:one dot in the iron symbol indicates 'cool setting', two dots mean you should use a 'warm' setting, and three dots means the fabric can handle the hottest setting.
Dry clean symbol for clothing labels

Dry Cleaning

The term 'dry clean' covers the process of cleaning in solvents (with little or no water), to remove soil, stains, grit and dust from fabric. "As there is no water involved, this cleaning process doesn't swell the fibres, which can lead to some fabrics distorting, shrinking or losing colour. Dry cleaning can also restore the loss of shape caused by wear," says Mansell.
Circle: A plain circle means 'dry clean only'. The plain circle with the cross through it means 'do not dry clean'.
P in circle: indicates garment needs 'professional care'. Sometimes you'll see a 'W' or 'F' in the circle - this indicates the solvent and process the professional dry cleaner needs to use.
Bleach symbol for clothing labels

Bleach

Triangle: Any bleach allowed. If the triangle has a cross through it and is blacked out, it means no bleach allowed.

Did You Know?

  • If a label contains more than one symbol, you should select the one that is for the most delicate wash option.
  • Nearly 98% of washable textiles are safe in bleach. If there is no bleach symbol, any type can be used.

Welcome!!!

"I have always believed that fashion was not only to make women more beautiful, but also to reassure them, give them confidence."
— Yves Saint Laurent

This quote by the world famous Algeria born french designer, Yves Saint Laurent emphasizes a believe I have long held. Fashion isn't just about beauty, it gives you an aura of self confidence and genuine reassurance. I do not need to delve into discussing the added benefits when a lady exudes confidence. She sure gonna rock n rule her world.
On this note I welcome you to my fashion blog where you'll get the latest fashion news, gist, fashion gossips, as well as fashion/ beauty tips. I've long had a passion for fashion, right from when I was a kid and honestly, that's one reason I can never forget my sweet mum who literally showered me with clothes week in week out. Funny enough, even as a kid, if she buys a clothe that's not attractive and has great fitting, I won't accept. This admiration and devotion continued till adulthood and those who know me can testify better to that. I hope to channel this passion in a positive way by devoting my spare time to share ideas and tips as well as latest fashion news and raves.
Coco Chanel said it all when she said and I quote: “Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening.”
Indeed fashion is everywhere and transcends dresses, its in all we do. Hence I don't intend discussing clothes alone but all aspects of our world that radiates beauty, be it jewelries, shoes, bags, make up, home decor, and lots more. So watch out for this blog, you just might learn something new and great. Ciao
